Events

For all the three days of the fest, Team Spandan has come up with a stimulating list of events and has scheduled them wisely. Considering multiple scenarios, the team has formulated the day-to-day event plan which will be executed for the three-day long festival. A total of 25 events have been planned, the descriptions of which are as follows-


1. Media Panchayat:
A panel discussion where eminent journalists and media personalities participate in discussions on important media related issues with the audience. One for the well-informed journo, this.

2. Ad Mad:
Father of advertising David Ogilvy came up with many quotations on creativity. Pick one, get motivated and put your best act forward. Improvise, rehearse in time and may the ads favour you.

3. RJ Hunt:
The best part about radio jockeying is that someone is always listening to you. If you get lucky, you even get prize money. Win-win situation.

4. Anchor Hunt:
If you can hold down a ship you're doing it wrong. We need you to speak in a mic better than that guy on Nach Baliye. No pressure.



5. Photography:
It's a tough place to be, the photography world is all pixels and lenses. But if you win, expect more likes on your photography page.

6. Debate:
Use of violence and caps lock is firmly prohibited in trying to make a point. Wit and logic however, make and break champions in the debate.


7. Mobile Filmmaking:
Selfie sticks are not allowed. Good filmmaking skills and vision are. That's letting you cheat. Good luck.

8. Quiz:
Everything under the sun, from literature to marsurpials. All you need is to know the answer. It's that simple.

9. Creative Writing:
The sacred art of writing will have a good day when participants pen down verse after another. We trust you to do better than your favourite Punjabi rapper.

10. Film Appreciation:
He who notices the deceit, the craft and the sleight of the camera must never miss a chance to praise Nolan, Tarantino and Kashyap.

11. Street Dance:
Oversized hats, squad uniforms and pyramid formations. If you know what to expect, you know that it will be worth the view in a crowd.



12. Street Play:
That political controversy, that social issue. That satorical reference and that pulsating anthem. Street plays are a savouring highlight everytime, everywhere.

13. X Factor:
We couldn't get Simon Cowell, but we do have remarkable talent lined up every year. This time, lightning will strike again and the audience will be in awe yet again.


14. Battle of Bands/ Unplugged:
It's always a tough choice between the highway to hell or the stairway to heaven. But why choose when the best come together this year too? A guitar, a voice and thousands cheering. If you're looking to revel in rhythm, seek no further


15. Fashion Show:
Please carry your own refreshment if the temperatures soar as the campus lights up in oomph. Not for the out-of-style.

16. Artist Night:
Every year, Spandan promises an evening that simply tingles the spine and paces the heart. Expect nothing different this year as a major artist arrives on campus to unleash mayhem.

17. Solo Dance:
Contemporary, classic, jazz, whatever comes next. One can always expect a surprise and a revelating experience either spectating or participating. The lone act often liberates, this being the best example.





18. Dastaan Goi:
He who survives the sands of time becomes a legend. Stories of men, kings, wars and peace, Dastaan Goi intends to narrate legendary fables unheard and unseen by the many who walk the earth. Join the excavation of the relics of storytelling this Spandan.


19. Group Dance:
Chemistry, co-ordination and the idea of trailblazing originality define Group Dance. With limited performances available, let the beat drop and let the applause rise.

20. Film Festival:
Bring your quietest best to the theater of ambition this Spandan as the Film Festival Cinephile runs for three days, showcasing films of fiction, documentaries and ad films. It is nothing less than remarkable, given last year's act becomes one to follow.
